Nicole and Johnny are so. much. fun. Immediately I was drawn to both of their personalities individually, but together they are simply infectious-people you just want to be around….They wanted to do the photos at their home – they have a beautiful view & it just made sense. We spoke before the session and decided that if it rained (or looked like there was a strong possibility for rain) that we would reschedule – well, the chances were low so we decided to move forward. When I arrived, there were a few clouds in the sky. 5 minutes later, the sky fell out – and it rained, and rained and rained – and didn’t stop the ENTIRE time we were there – the thunder was so loud I felt like a kid again and couldn’t help but jump each time I heard it. I think the storm was meant to be because these truly turned out better than I could have ever imagined…I am beyond excited about their Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden wedding next June and can’t wait to see how I Do Wedding Consulting brings their vision to life!
Cute idea that the 2 of them had (a little play on the America Gothic painting by Grant Wood)
They wanted to lay on a beachy lake area while the sun set and get a few shots like that – since this wasn’t an option I thought, hey why not just do it here – no reason we can’t try! So Johnny lit a fire (in June!) and these ended up being some of my favorites!
They had these HUGE balloons that they wanted to hold outside for a save the date – for a moment they thought it may have been a waste due to the weather – but why not use them? We just did it in a little bit of a different way (in their dining room!)….
