These were supposed to be head shots for Cristina Wilson, editor of Carolina Bride. I mean, they were, but while we were shooting, and especially looking back at them, they were really so much more. I was pleasantly surprised when I could tell she was open to something a little bit different; because anyone that knows me, knows that I embrace anything outside of the ordinary.
Lindsey Regan Thorne, owner of Be Pretty by Lindsey Regan Thorne styled Cristina from head. to. toe. With flawless hair and makeup & a killer wardrobe from Neiman Marcus, we couldn’t wait to start….My goal was for these images to be truly genuine & represent where she is in her career as an editor as well as where she is personally in life.
Surrounded by white, we started shooting at J Majors Bridal Boutique – it’s not your every day spot for head shots, but for a wedding magazine editor it just made sense. I was on double duty as a day-dreamer and a photographer – a little girl in wedding gown wonderland, wishing she could try on every. single. one. WOW Factor Cakes was just next door, so we stopped by to grab a few more shots there (and drool a touch over the smell of cakey-sweetness). Our original plan was to end downtown with a few stops in and around the city. But then we thought about rooftop, skyline and to me, the idea of it just embodied success, beauty & strength. So we finished on the rooftop of Split Second Sound‘s new headquarters where the Queen City’s skyline view is second to none. All I can say, is I’m SO glad we did….Special thanks to Jessica Malone of Jessica Kait Photography for assisting.
